Building the Brand...


As I considered what the name of this company would be, one thing I knew for certain…it had to have significance and meaning rooted in real estate; a name that consumers could quickly relate to. In fact, just take a brief moment to consider the various names of real estate companies in your area. You will likely discover one of the following:

A. Name(s) honoring the founder(s) of the company (I see my name often enough when I pay my bills, no need to post it on yard signs)

B. The real estate arm of a national company from another industry

C. Names that just don’t make much sense to consumers or are just plain goofy (no need to write them, but feel free to ponder for a moment)

I reflected back on my many conversations over the years with customers and friends, and the phrase I recalled much more than anything else was, “I need to find a hungry agent”. Consumers have been requesting “The Hungry Agent” for decades now, so while I finally gave into the idea of allowing the phrase be part of this company, I needed more. That’s where “Redefined” came in as the perfect word to complete the name project.

You see, when a consumer says they want a hungry agent, they sometimes mean they want to find a starving agent, without other business, who can give them 110% of their attention and efforts. The consumer in me agrees that I want some serious attention in what will be one of the larger purchases or sales of my lifetime. But the darker side of this phrase sometimes says, “Someone I can intimidate and manipulate by the fear of losing their one chance for a paycheck”. So hopefully you see the need for “redefined”. The phrase “The Hungry Agent” does allow for immediate recognition, but “redefined” says there’s more to it, and it captures the curiosity of the reader and creates a desire to discover what is different.

So who are these “hungry agents…redefined”, and how are they different?

  • A Student of the real estate industry
  • Full of integrity
  • Not full of themselves
  • Not full of the spirit of greed
  • Extreme work ethic
  • Always professional to peers, regardless of the behavior reciprocated (you know, The Golden Rule in action)
  • Passionate about creating an experience their customer will never forget
  • Exceeding expectations in every way
  • A Realtor® and a friend for a lifetime
  • Continually eager to learn and to teach
  • A Giver, someone who is continually reminded that there truly are hungry people in this world, starving to death in fact, and indeed one person can make a difference
  • A Believer in the philosophy that we are blessed so that we can be a blessing to others

Simply put...the best of the best; incredible people with incredible gifts, talents, and character; devoted to serving their customers to the fullest; focused on building relationships that stand the test of time; prosperous and successful in every area of life; always mindful of those in need.
